Is the app really free? ▾
Yes. Shagun Tracker is free to download and use from Google Play, with no ads, no account and no in-app purchases. Exporting to PDF, CSV and JSON is included.
Does the app need internet? ▾
Not for everyday use. Adding, editing, searching and exporting all work offline, with no account and no sign-in. The one feature that needs internet is the optional Scan Register, which sends the photo you choose to Google Gemini using your own free API key. Google Play also checks for app updates in the background, as it does for every Android app.
What happens if I uninstall the app? ▾
All data will be permanently deleted. We strongly recommend exporting your data as JSON backup before uninstalling. You can import the backup later.
Can I transfer data to a new phone? ▾
Yes! Export your data as JSON from the old phone, transfer the file (via email, WhatsApp, or cloud storage), and import it on the new phone.
Is my data safe? ▾
Your records are stored on your device, and the app does not send them anywhere on its own — the only exception is a photo you choose to send through the optional Scan Register feature. You can also lock an event with a 6-digit PIN so nobody can change or delete its records. We recommend using your device's built-in security (screen lock, biometrics) as well, and exporting a JSON backup regularly.
Which languages are supported? ▾
Currently English and Hindi. You can switch between languages with a single tap from the home screen.
Can I import data from a CSV file? ▾
Yes. CSV import works per event: open the event and tap the “Import” link there. The app matches columns like Person Name, Address, Contact, Relation, Gift Type and Amount, and you can download a sample CSV template from that screen. The Import option in the side menu is for restoring a JSON backup, not for CSV.
